All About Expo

Every February since 1998, the Society of Women Engineers Wichita Section and the WSU College of Engineering have put on an Engineering Expo to show kids grades K-8 how cool engineering can be!

There's a little bit of everything at Expo! We feature new booths every year, and new ways of setting up existing booths too. So if you've been before, keep coming back! The purpose of expo is to teach kids about the different fields of engineering. Previous booths have included:

Quick Tips

  • Expo features fun hands-on activities that demonstrate engineering and science for kids grades K-8
  • There is no registration or cost involved. Expo is free for kids and parents!
  • Expo runs on Saturday morning for several hours, but you can drop in any time.
  • Parents should stay with children throughout the activities.
  • Many booths have items that kids make and bring home with them.
  • Expo is a celebration of Engineers Week! Learn more about Engineers Week and engineering at eweek.org.
