Dr. Vicki S. Johnson has worked at NASA, for a private non-profit, in academia, and in industry. There have been some very special opportunities and many lessons learned, often when it was too late!
Dr. Johnson will share the highlights of those experiences and lessons with a goal of both entertaining and educating attendees with all levels of experiences.
There will also be a raffle that night. Prizes include All Star Sports gift cardsand a Michael Kors purse! Proceeds from the raffle go to our WSU scholarship fund. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time at wichitaswe.org/banquet or the night of the event.
The annual year-end banquet will be on May 21. It will be a great time to reflect on our accomplishments for the year, hear an interesting speaker, and get a preview of the location for Region i conference 2014. Mark your calendars now!
About the event:Â This interactive session will provide you tools to enhance your awareness during times when severe weather is expected and to enhance the probability of your personal safety when severe weather is ongoing. Â The presentation also will cover mobile weather apps and practices at home and work to keep you safe during severe weather.
About the speaker:
Suzanne has served as the Meteorologist in Charge at National Weather Service (NWS) Wichita since April 2012. Â She has been a professional meteorologist for over twenty-five years. Â She holds a B.S. and M.S. in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma.
The Kansas State Science and Engineering Fair needs your help! They are looking for judges to judge the projects. Judging takes place on Friday, March 29th starting at 5:00pm at Century II.
Judges need to be there at 5pm, they will give you a rubric and you are done as soon as you finish the ones they give you! Normally a few hours! They need judges in ALL areas! Behavioral & Social Sciences, Biochemistry, Medicine & Health Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematical and Computer Science, Earth & Space, Consumer Science, Engineering, Environmental, Physics, Botany, Zoology

Our 2013 Engineering Expo was a HUGE success – over 500 kids attended, everyone loved the space at NCAT, we had some great new booths and can’t wait for next year.
SWE members who planned Expo – please add your thoughts to the brainstorming files this week! We will be getting together at NCAT to review, debrief, brainstorm ideas and fill in next year’s chair.
