On December 10, Wichita SWE had a booth at the Girl Scouts of the Kansas Heartland’s 62nd annual Festival of Giving. Cassie Schroeder and Barb Davis ran 2 activities, The Steady Hand Game and How Many Balloons Do You Weigh? Both were very popular. We had several hundred girls and adults stop by.
In Steady Hand the goal is to run a loop over a wire without touching and lighting up an LED. It is a lot like OperationĀ®. The Balloon activity involved weighing a balloon (about 9 grams) and then weighing each girl on a special scale calibrated to show how many balloons it would take to lift the girl.
At this annual event Girl Scouts around Kansas bring made or purchased gifts for those in the community who are in need. The gifts are distributed to area service agencies at the end of the event.
