The Society of Women Engineers hosted an event with Dondi Scumaci on October 29th. Over 50 people attended the event, including a diverse group of engineering and non-engineering professionals from companies around Wichita. The event was held at the Olive Tree Banquet Hall, where Dondi gave an excellent presentation on her book Ready, Set … Grow. Dondi Scumaci is an international speaker, author, and an expert in professional and personal development, and she gave her typical high energy performance for the group. Many of the Spirit AeroSystems and Boeing employees are familiar with Dondi, who consults on mentoring programs and provides training on professional development.
Scumaci’s first book, Designed for Success, is an excellent overview for empowering yourself to be successful. In Ready, Set … Grow, Dondi’s focus is on personal growth, improving yourself and enjoying life. In her typical style, Dondi used stories and personal antidotes to make key points on managing stress and worry and ridding your life of damaging relationships.  Throughout her book, Dondi recommends journaling as a way to track progress as you improve and grow. After her presentation to the group, a book signing closed out a fun and informative evening.
