Dr. Vicki S. Johnson has worked at NASA, for a private non-profit, in academia, and in industry. There have been some very special opportunities and many lessons learned, often when it was too late!
Dr. Johnson will share the highlights of those experiences and lessons with a goal of both entertaining and educating attendees with all levels of experiences.
There will also be a raffle that night. Prizes include All Star Sports gift cardsand a Michael Kors purse! Proceeds from the raffle go to our WSU scholarship fund. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time at wichitaswe.org/banquet or the night of the event.
The Society of Women Engineers Wichita Section will once again be raising money for our scholarship fund at our annual banquet by awarding baskets of prizes to lucky raffle winners. We are seeking businesses and individuals to donate goods and services for the baskets.
The scholarship is awarded to a female engineering student at Wichita State University. This year’s banquet will be held Tuesday, May 21st and donations must be received by Tuesday, May 14th.
To donate an item to our prize baskets, please send your item in along with your name and the estimated value of the item for tax purposes. We are a 501(c)(3) organization and donations are tax deductible.

The annual year-end banquet will be on May 21. It will be a great time to reflect on our accomplishments for the year, hear an interesting speaker, and get a preview of the location for Region i conference 2014. Mark your calendars now!
Dr.Schulz, First Lady of KSU, Pasley Professor of Electrical Engineering, and 2012-2013 President of IEEE Power Society was the speaker for the Wichita Section 30th anniversary banquet. The 40 attendees were treated to interesting stories about Dr. Schulz’s path from college to K-State, and all the stops in between.
Outgoing FY12 officers were thanked, and incoming officers were inducted. A raffle was held to raise money to support the Wichita SWE scholarship at WSU with prizes donated by K-State, Spirit AeroSystems and Karg Art Glass. The banquet committee thanks everyone for attending.
7:00 Presentation by Noel Schulz, Ph.D., the First Lady of Kansas State, Paslay Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering at KSU, and President of IEEE Power & Energy Society for 2012-2013. Dr. Schulz will be speaking on her career pathway.
