There is also a new session format for WE12 called Lightning Talks. These 20-minute sessions give the audience a succinct overview of an exciting project or research (recent or current). Each speaker will have 15 minutes to present on a topic, and then the audience will have five minutes to ask questions. SWE prefers that speakers use a very limited number of PowerPoint slides, or none at all, during the 15-minute presentation. In addition to Lightning Talks, there are five other session formats to choose from: lecture, workshop, panel, off-site technical tour and poster.
