Monday, December 21st, 2009The second annual Wichita Regional Science & Engineering Fair will be held at Exploration Place on February 26-27, 2010. This is an opportunity for students in Grades 4-12 to participate in a full-scale science fair. There are 2 divisions:
Division I (Grades 9-12)
Division II (Grades 4-8), individuals or teams
Entry forms are due January 29, 2010.

JETS’ National Engineering Design Challenge
Monday, December 21st, 2009JETS (Junior Engineering Technical Society) are now holding their annual National Engineering Design Challenge (NEDC).  The NEDC is an annual cross-curricular, service-learning competition that challenges high school students to put their creativity and problem-solving skills to use by designing an assistive technology device for a person with a disability. Each team submits a video as part of the challenge. The videos will be judged online during the virtual semifinals on January 13, 2010. You can check out last year’s semi-finals videos at http://www.jets.org/programs/nedc/semifinals/index.cfm to give you a sense of what these teams are doing.
