Our January meeting was co-sponsored with the Wichita State University section. It was a panel featuring 6 Wichita company executives discussing choosing leadership paths for career growth, and expectations for collegiate new hires. Questions from the audience were moderated by our own Region I Senator, Vicki Johnson. Over 50 attendees listened to the advice offered by the executives. One theme touched on by the panelists was the importance of teamwork and working well with others. A piece of advice from the evening that applies at all levels of your career is to “declare a major” and then work on the skills you need to get to that next point in your career.
Join the Society of Women Engineers and area executives for a panel discussion about expectations for collegiate new hires and choosing the leadership path for career growth.

The first meeting of the year was a wine tasting. Roger Fowler and Merle brought a selection of wines for us to sample and review. He also taught us some very interesting facts about the history of making wine. Since then I have been inspired to cook more with wine. It was a fun time to try new wines and connect with other SWE members.
What: Our friends at National Association of Women In Construction (NAWIC) invite SWE to accompany them on their tour of the new WATC National Center for Aviation Training.
