This year’s annual Block Kids event will be held on Saturday, January 16th from 10am to Noon (for judges). The event is in need of volunteer judges to inspect the entries. This is an experience you won’t want to miss! As a judge you will talk to children about their project and complete a scoring form. With expectations of 125 children, we will need lots of “Building Inspectors”. No experience necessary!
If you are interested in being a judge, please fill out the form below and submit to Heather Gonzalez at email@example.com.
More about Block Kids:
The Block Kids Building Program was developed by the NAWIC Education Foundation to introduce children to the construction industry to create an awareness of careers available within our industry. This event is open to children in grades 1 through 6. Each child receives 100 plastic Lego type building blocks, a small rock, piece of string and a piece of aluminum foil to building their project. Each child is interviewed and their project is evaluated by a judge aka “Building Inspector”. Prizes are given to the top three children with the most points in each grade groups of 1st & 2nd / 3rd & 4th / 5th & 6th. The child with the most overall points wins first place, and this project is entered into the regional competition. A national winner is selected from the regional competition winners.
