Catwalk Coding – Call for Panelist Volunteers

Catwalk Coding is a five day camp in which each of 25 girls creates and codes their own light-up fashion accessories. The camp culminates on with a blinking runway fashion show followed by a panel discussion and Q&A by women in STEM fields.  The camp is looking for some dynamic women in SWE who can attending the fashion show and participate in the panel afterwards.

Catwalk Coding was created as a means by which to close the gender gap in STEM. By constructing their own illuminating accessory, girls will learn both electrical and coding skills. Girls will get the chance to embrace their inner engineer while satisfying their inner fashionista!

The fashion show and panel take place from 11 A.M. to 12:15 P.M. on July 21st, at RiverWalk Church of Christ, which is located at 2nd and Waco in Wichita.

The camp is seeking inspiring women from SWE who would agree to talk to the girls and participate in the panel.  The goal is to have the girls will re-imagine their own futures and become empowered by local, successful, passionate women in STEM careers. Any STEM job is great – they are looking to get as diverse a group as possible so that the girls can consider many possible avenues. No preparation is needed, plus there will lots of yummy sweet treats afterwards!

This is a great way to get involved in our community and inspire the younger generation!  If you are willing to participate, please contact Reeny Botros.  Her contact information is below.
